Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Furious 7. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black.

They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell.

After Paul Walker’s tragic car accident, his brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, filled in as body doubles and performed voiceovers for the character Brian O’Conner.

Nightcrawler

Nightcrawler is a pulse-pounding thriller set in the nocturnal underbelly of contemporary Los Angeles. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Lou Bloom, a driven young man desperate for work who discovers the high-speed world of L.A. crime journalism. Finding a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of nightcrawling — where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents. Aided by Rene Russo as Nina, a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news, Lou thrives. In the breakneck, ceaseless search for footage, he becomes the star of his own story.

The Gambler

Marky Mark plays a literature professor with a gambling problem that lands him in trouble with some gangstaers.

Guardians of The Galaxy Review

So it seems I am on a movie watching spree these days. I also watched Dawn of the Planet of The Apes but I don’t feel like reviewing it. Anyway let’s get to it, how is Marvel’s new addition to the world they have so expertly engulfed us all into? Well let’s start with the story line. Guardians of The Galaxy sees a band of criminals, namely: Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) come together to be ‘unlikely’ heroes. Let’s get one thing clear, in my opinion, the secret to these Marvel movies is casting, Finding the right people to bring these comic book characters to life is no easy feat and they take it seriously. When you think of Robert Downey Jr now all you see is Tony Stark and Chris Evans embodies Captain America. Now how did they fair with this movie? Pretty good I must say. Chris Pratt is entertaining, Zoe Saldana is is alluring, Dave Bautista was a brilliant choice. But the stand out character for me is most definitely Rocket, Bradley Cooper kills that delivery and just makes you fall in love with that little guy.

The rest of the cast is also pretty impressive, I won’t go into detail about them. The story sees our band of criminals have to come together in order to stop the Galaxy from being destroyed by Ronan, who has gotten hold of a stone that gives him immense power. So our misfits who also saw it fit to break out of jail are running from the authorities and trying to save the galaxy. It’s a heart warming story with some genuinely funny moments and it really felt like it could have been as big as Avengers if all the characters were as revered. As an origins story though I think it was well done and the sequel will probably do even better. The idea to also use 80s music throughout the movie gives it a nice nostalgic touch. I hope you go watch it and enjoy!

Movies to look forward to

So I am a movie buff. I always have to know whats coming out. So I am putting up 3 trailers of movies I am looking forward to seeing soon.

1. Hercules Starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Yes another Hercules movie, don’t know how this happened but anyway, The Rock is following in the footsteps of the great Arnie and playing the Greek mythological son of Zeus. The trailer seems exciting and I hope the movie doesn’t fall short.

2. Guardians of the Galaxy. Yet another addition to the Marvel world of super heroes. Following on the heels of captain America this looks to keep the momentum of Super Hero movies going strong.

3. Kingsman: The Secret Service. I don’t know much about this movie accept that it has Collin Firth and Sam Jackson, and it looks thrilling. Check it out for yourself.
